Phase One Re Opening OUR Parish

Phase One is the first step in opening the Parish. In this phase the Mic area must be sanitized after EACH USE so the Cantor will sing from the Choir loft ONLY.

When you arrive for the Mass, you must have on a mask and proceed straight to the Choir Loft.  Plastic gloves are provided in the loft if you would like to wear them.  Adjust the Mic stand for your comfort and height.  Only then will you hit the power switch near the mixer to turn the sound system on in the loft!  The power switch also controls the fan which is pointed down and is sterilized after each Mass.  Please,  DO NOT adjust anything in the Mixer.  For more volume, please stand closer to the Mic.  For less volume take a step (or more) away from the Mic.  The mic will be set on the higher side of normal so as to be more adaptable.

PLEASE!! DO NOT bring hymnals into the loft!!  All hymns and Mass Parts should be printed for ONE TIME USE ONLY or use a smartphone, tablet, or notebook!!!  If you need help printing the music please let me know, I will be happy to do so with gloves and a face mask.  If you need help using your digital device, I would be more than happy to help!!!  We ARE NOT PERMITTED to use these devices at the AMBO (PULPIT) yet but we are in the Loft so no worries!

With all this said,  if you are interested in being a Cantor at Mass please let me know.

Mission Statement
The Music Ministry of OLBS Parish seeks to involve every member of our congregation in full, conscious and active participation in the Liturgy. Our role is to motivate, reinforce, and sustain the congregation's singing and participation. Our Ministry is called to reinforce the Scripture Readings with sung prayer. One of the most powerful characteristics of singing is that it connects with both our thoughts and emotions. Singing the truths in the Bible enhances our experience with God through his Word both emotionally and cognitively.

*Remember this phrase when announcing hymns: Let's sing together name of hymn.*
